The members of the Silverton Grange would like to extend a warm thank you to all those folks who helped make our Fifty Mile Breakfast a success, either by attending, buying a raffle ticket or by providing materials for us to serve.
We would especially like to thank our sponsors, whose donations made the breakfast and raffle basket possible. Between the breakfast itself and the Raffle Basket, we are now well on our way to getting our community kitchen upgrade plans. And Mayor Rasmussen’s last-minute $200.00 donation from the Mayor’s Ball was likewise greatly appreciated!

Just a note to tell you how much we admire the tack that your Grange has taken to localize food production and support sustainable agriculture. My husband and I grow a vegetable garden, keep rabbits and raise chickens on our property in La Pine and are the Lady Assistant Steward and the Assistant Stewards of the Little Deschutes Grange. We would like to model our efforts after yours.
We do have a Grange Mkt. once a month, where we are hoping to get more produce. But I am finding it difficult, since Central Oregon is a harsh environment to grow veggies. But, I am going to attend a Food Summit in a couple of weeks that should give me more contacts. I also write a gardening column in our local monthly paper. Pictures of our vegetables and chickens can be viewed at our blog:

I find your projects very inspirational! I really like your website, too.
Thank you for all that you do in these challenging times.
